Wondering about grades? Us, too. Also: adjuncts in the news, charter school walkouts, computer graded writing. It’s Required Reading 2-6-2014!

What’s in a grade? Does a high GPA from a prestigious university indicate  a moral and unthuglike character ?   Why bring it up?

Speaking of grades, why the leap from D to F?  Shouldn’t you lose points for forgetting one of the most popular letters?

Well, New Jersey really needs a good day, so congrats! Rutgers University  adjuncts   win contract rights! Out West, the Colorado legislature is exploring job protections for community college adjuncts.

The Atlantic tells us that New Orleans charter school students have been staging walk-outs to protest the rigid discipline and lack of arts education and extra curricular activities. I like to see the young people rising up.

Thank you,I guess,  Becoming Radical, for giving us this little review on the history of writing pedagogy and the losses we face with computer graded writing.  Though to be honest, it kind gives me a stomachache.
